Russ Mooney worked as an animation director on all four seasons of CatDog. Starting his career in 1968, Mooney worked on multiple animated series, including Disney's TaleSpin and Lilo & Stitch: The Series as well as the popular Saturday Morning cartoon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He served as animation supervisor on The Looney Tunes Show.
His film work includes animating on The Mouse and His Child (1977), Heavy Metal (1981), Fire and Ice (1983) and Curious George 2: Follow That Monkey! (2009). He retired in 2013, after working in animation for a 45 year span.
In an interview, Mooney cited "Diamond Fever," "Siege on Fort CatDog" and "Sumo Enchanted Evening" as his favorite CatDog episodes.[1]
