Trivia[]
- It's weird how Cat teases Winslow since he is the one who makes fun of Cat and Dog, such as in "Cone Dog".
- This episode premiered on New Year's Eve of 1999, along with several other Nicktoon episodes with futuristic themes in celebration of the new millennium.
- This episode is also known as Future CatDog.
- This is the only episode of CatDog to take place in the future or show the characters descendants.
Cultural references[]
- This episode's title "CatDog 3001" is likely an homage to the 1971 sci-fi film THX 1138.
- The plot of this episode is similar to the Futurama pilot episode "Space Pilot 3000," where the main character, Fry, falls into a cryogenic freezing tube and is frozen for the next 1,000 years. Coincidentally, this episode premiered the same day as the main setting date as the aforementioned episode.
- During premiere, this episode aired after SpongeBob's SB-129/Karate Choppers.

Goofs[]
- When Cat demands to be put back together and sent back to the future after Winslow the 38th blasts the whole gang, his vacuum attachment is missing.
